USPA NEWS - The thousands of visitors every night made the center of Eindhoven very crowded. At some places there were extra precautions taken place to guide the visitors and secure their safety.
Robbert ten Caten: "People were walking a "round of GLOW" and enjoyed the special lightinstallations.
In 2006 there was a demand of an event, with which Eindhoven could profile itself on a qualitative and distinguished manner in the area of light. With GLOW they more than enough accomplished that goal. "GLOW has developed itself into a prominent lightfestival, for which people come to Eindhoven specifically. The innovative "City of Light" is the perfect scene for the festival. And with a visitorscount of over 360.000 people GLOW can be called a direct hit that is also of great economical value for the city." This year the event take place from november 10th - november 17th.

History
Origin of GLOW In 2006 there was a demand for an event, with which Eindhoven could profile itself on a qualitative and distinguished manner in the area of light, which would fit in the image of Eindhoven as a creative, design- and technological city. The foundation of GLOW as a lightartevent starts with the organisation of the Annual General Meeting of LUCI in 2007. LUCI (Lighting Urban Community International) is an organisation in which approximately 60 prominent cities and third parties are connected too, Philips included. Parties that are very active on the terrain of light, wherein aspects such as innovation, culture, safety and sustainability play a big part. The first GLOW in 2006 was a try-out for the LUCI meeting in 2007
