USPA NEWS - Since she was re-appointed Minister for culture, Rachida Dati announced a set of measures to promote the careers of Ministry of Culture employees at a meeting of the ministerial administration social committee. On 15 January, the Minister Dati also promised support in the face of budget cuts at the regional level, during the last week. She requested an assessment of the impact of the reduction in budgets allocated by local authorities by the end of February. The debates on the 2025 budget project and the plan on freedom of creation resumed on 15 January, after the text was censored in December, leading to the fall of Michel Barnier's government.

Rachida Dati, a right-wing figure and member of the Les Républicains party, is also the most symbolic of inclusivity, as the politician woman, to have accessing to the highest ministerial positions, during Nicolas Sarkozy’s term (2007-2012).
After being the Mayor of one of the poshest district of Paris (7th), and former MEP, Rachida Dati was appointed Minister of Culture in January 2024 in the government of Gabriel Attal4. She was reappointed to this position on 21 September 2024 when the government of Michel Barnier, also from Les Républicains, was formed.14 This appointment is a continuation of her political career, which began as Nicolas Sarkozy's spokesperson during the 2007 presidential campaign. Following Sarkozy's election, Dati became Minister of Justice from 2007 to 2009, making history as the first person of Maghrebi immigrant origin to hold a senior ministry in France.46 Despite being indicted in July 2021 for passive corruption and concealment of abuse of power, Dati benefits from the presumption of innocence and retains her ministerial position
