USPA NEWS - Patrick Kujala was winner of the opening race in the 2015 European season of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. In Monza the Finnish driver took both pole position and the Race One win.
The 18-year old Bonaldi Motorsport driver, racing in GP3 in 2014, defended his leadership right from the beginning, taking the checkered flag ahead of the Team Lazarus pair of Sergio Campana and Fabrizio Crestani. Grabbing third spot on the podium was German Florian Spengler (Bonaldi Motorsport). Monza Race One also marked a special occasion: the first appearance of the Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo.
The new pairing of Matteo Bobbi and Jay Palmer (Bonaldi Motorsport) also got off to a spectacular start as they cruised to a debut victory in the PRO AM class. Standing with them on the podium were Swiss racer Adrian Amstutz (Konrad Motorsport) and the Leipert Motorsport duo featuring Finn Mikko Eskelinen and Dutchman Kelvin Snoeks.
In the AM Class the victory went to Swiss Mark Ineichen from Konrad Motorsport. Second place in the AM Class went to Shota Abkhazava (Artline Team Georgia), who led his class for more than half race. Third place was for Siegfried Vanema and Michael Schaal, supported by Sportec Motorsport.
Carina Lima, the only female driver in the series, along with Andrea Palma won the category reserved for the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo car, with the Italian-Portuguese duo achieving success with Imperiale Racing´s car.
Race One was an unlucky one for many expected protagonists. Among them were Roman Mavlanov and Daniel Zampieri (Antonelli Motorsport) who fought in the early stages for top positions.
