Minority Leaders Support International Day Of Yoga

USPA NEWS - A delegation of minority leaders meeting the Minister of State for AYUSH and Health & Family Welfare, Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik, to convey their support for International Day of Yoga, in New Delhi on June 11, 2015. The Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Mr. Nilanjan Sanyal is also seen.
A delegation of minority leaders who met Mr. Shripad Naik , Minister of State, Ministry of AYUSH on June 11, applauded the initiative of Prime Minister due to which 21st June has been declared as International Day of Yoga.

The delegation included Maulana Syed Kaukab Mujtaba Abidi, President Majlis Ulema e Hind (Uttar Pradesh), Maulana Suhaib Qasmi, President Jamat Ulema e Hind (Delhi), Irfan Salmani Dehalvi, President All India Jamat e Salmani B,Hafiz Mohd Sabreen, President Jamat Huffaz Ikraam, Abbas Ali Bohra, Representative Daudi Bohra Community, Hanif Khan Shastri, Professor Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan among others.
Mr. Abbas Ai Bohra, representative of Daudi Bohra Community mentioned that out of the total of 177 countries which have given co-sponsorship for celebrating International Day of Yoga, 47 countries are from Organisation of Islamic Countries. These countries have expressed their desire to participate in the yoga sessions being organized in the Indian Missions. He opined that we as Indians should support Yoga Day as it is on the initiative of India that the whole world is celebrating the Yoga Day on 21st June, 2015 in a big way. The leaders mentioned that in reality Namaz too has yogic postures.
Later, the Minister stated that Yoga has nothing to do with any particular religion but it is for the well being of everyone. He also pointed out that there is no compulsion on anyone to practice Yoga but as it is good for body and soul all should make Yoga part of their lives and contribute in the celebrations of International Yoga Day on June 21, 2015 and support the mission of Prime Minister.
