All FCI Depot Will Have Online Operations By Next March: Ram Vilas Paswan

USPA NEWS - The Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan felicitating the winner of competition at MyGov for designing “˜online depot programme logo´ of FCI, as part of digital initiatives, in New Delhi on July 01, 2015.
The Government has taken important initiative to implement depot online system across all food storage depots of FCI in the country. All the depots will have all their operation online by March 2016. This was stated by Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution while releasing logo and tag line capturing the essence of this prestigious initiative on the eve of launch of Digital India Week.
The Minister said that depot online project is a part of overall vision of Government of India to transform the food distribution supply chain in the country. It would facilitate process automation, standardization and efficiency of the management of food-grain distribution and would enable real time monitoring of operations and timely data reporting.
The Food Corporation of India has already initiated the process for implementing depot online project and as a part of the process, a contest was held on MyGov platform for designing a logo and tagline for depot online system. The contest was aimed at obtaining the most innovative logo and a tagline capturing the essence of this prestigious initiative. Huge response was received and more than 500 contestants participated. The contest was won by Mr. Anurag Saxena. Mr. Paswan gave away cash award to the winner in a brief ceremony held at Krishi Bhavan on July 1.
