Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Rae Bareli organized its first Graduation Ceremony on at DRDO Auditorium, New Delhi August 19. On this occasion, Chief Guest, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan awarded six students with the President´s Gold Medals and 16 students were awarded Silver Medals. 260 Undergraduates and 185 Postgraduates were awarded degrees at the grand ceremony.
Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) was set up in 2008 through an Act of Parliament by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India as an “Institute of National Importance“ along the lines of IITs. The institute is co-promoted as an energy domain specific institute by six leading oil PSUs““ ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL and HPCL in association with OIDB. RGIPT is currently offering programmes at Undergraduate (B. Tech. in Petroleum & Chemical Engineering), Postgraduate (M. Tech. in Petroleum & Chemical Engineering and MBA in Petroleum & Energy Management) and Doctoral levels from Rae Bareli and Noida campuses.
Second campus of RGIPT is coming up at Sivasagar, Assam, which will offer programmes at diploma level, while a third campus is coming up in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This centre will have state?of?the art facilities and world-class infrastructure for imparting academic and training programmes on Fire Safety Engineering and Process Safety.
