A Common Future for USA-Africa For Sustainable and Inclusive Growth

USPA NEWS - The 2th Annual US-Africa Cultural Expo and Business Matchmaking will be convened from 19 November ““ 21 November, 2015 at a time where Africa's growth is attracting global interest, notably from an industrialization perspective. The conference is a high level platform to engage with business leaders.

In an ever changing world, one thing is sure: Africa´s 54 countries and the United States of America 51 States have a shared history and future. Africa is increasingly gaining recognition not only for the challenges it faces but for the promise it holds. The continent is now on the international agenda, experiencing some of its best periods of economic growth.

Africa has been pursuing its economic integration at the continental level. From the foundation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) many years ago and even more so since the creation of the African Union (AU) in 2002

Africa has built continental institutions and established ambitious policies and initiatives in many key areas that are both important for the development of the continent and of direct interest to the USA. In this context, developing the relationship between the two partners has become a priority for both sides.

It was in this spirit that African and American leaders as well as President Barack Obama along with high ranked investors came together at the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit that was held in Nairobi, Kenya, on July 25-26.

The Summit was the sixth annual gathering of entrepreneurs at all stages of business development - business leaders, mentors, and high-level government officials - demonstrating the U.S. Government´s continued commitment to fostering entrepreneurship around the world and putting their relations on a new footing and to establish a strategic partnership, based upon a strong business relationship and close cooperation in key areas.

The US-Africa Partnership is based on shared values and aims at promoting common interests and achieving shared strategic objectives.

It strives to bring Africa and USA closer together through the strengthening of economic cooperation and the promotion of sustainable development, with both continents living side by side in peace, security, democracy, prosperity, solidarity and human dignity. In this set up, both sides are determined to overcome the traditional donor-recipient relationship, and to develop a shared long-term vision for US-Africa relations in a globalized world, where they have many common interests on issues such as climate change, business, global security and development.
