Women Of India Exhibition To Be Held From November 13 To 23

Sale/Exhibition Of Organic Products By Women Will Be The Theme This Year
The Ministry of Women and Child Development will hold its annual Women of India Exhibition with the theme “Women and Organic Products“ from 13th to 23rd November, 2015 at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi. The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Mrs. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi and the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers´ Welfare, Mr. Radha Mohan Singh on November 13.
This year, the exhibition will involve sale/exhibition of organic products be it food or other eco-friendly products mainly exhibited by various women´s groups and women entrepreneurs from Delhi, NCR and all states of India, especially from rural areas.

For the first time in India, over 500 women artisans /entrepreneurs across the country from Leh to Kanyakumari and from Kohima to Kutch, will come together with their organic products, such as tribal and ethnic foods, pickles and preserves, rice, pulses, spices, vegetables and fruits, fabrics, dyes and dresses, cosmetics and household products, in the exhibition.
Some of the other organic products for exhibition/sale will include cereals, oils, honey, tea, hair care, bath care, beauty care, aromatherapy products, organic cotton fabric, linen, organic seeds and bio products among others. The main aim of the Exhibition is to support and encourage women and women-led groups which promote organic farming thus supporting local community´s economy, creating jobs and keeping farmers thriving and in addition spreading awareness in the community about the benefits of organic products.

Besides organic produce, people will also get an opportunity to taste a variety of home-cooked snacks and organic food cooked on the spot. The entry to the exhibition will be free on all days of the exhibition.
