JOINT DECLARATION SIGNED BY 70 PERSONALITIES IN THE SECTOR OF BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTION A joint declaration a joint declaration signed by over 70 personalities representing the sector Buildings and Construction (Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction). This initiative created by the Global Alliance.----------------------------------- The 20 signatories countries are : Austria, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, USA, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, Senegal, Singapore, Sweden, Tunisia, Dubai, Ukraine, Armenia, Vietnam.--------------------------------------- Lafarge Holcim, Saint Gobain, Velux, Consolidated Contractors Company, Danfoss, Veolia, Sekisui House, Suez Environnement, are the building and constructions companies involved in this alliance. Over 50 national and international organizations, professional networks and funders are the 8 groups involved.

OBJECTIVES OF THE GLOBAL ALLIANCE--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Bringing large scale global players in the building of a common ambition service and sustain this momentum to ensure that they work together over time;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Increase the share of green building in international funding to implement new initiatives and increase the visibility of exemplary initiatives;---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Gather around a program of operational activities of networks and strategic partners representing all players in building production chain;---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - To publicize the initiatives of all the members and more generally solutions to make them reproducible and appropriated; - Networking the public authorities in charge of construction, to converge regulations and financing to low-carbon strategies. Besides its involvement in organizing the first day Buildings and investment from the start in operational implementation of the Alliance, France supports several specific actions: - An initiative on tropical architecture, supported by ADEME, to produce a methodological framework of bioclimatic design and thermal comfort for the tropics, thermal regulation in 20 countries / regions, and the construction of 100 buildings copies, reproducible and functional;--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A global fund project for sustainable building "eco-building" of which the feasibility study is financed by the French Development Agency and the French Global Environment Facility;---------------------------------------------------------------------- - An initiative for sustainable and affordable homes ("sustainable and affordable housing") in connection with UN habitat; - A program for low-energy buildings in the metropolis, the 'Building Efficiency Accelerator SE4All ". Buildings account for one third of greenhouse gas emissions and are exposed to the effects of climate change. The surface built worldwide will nearly double by 2050. They are therefore a priority area for action. The immense needs of developing countries make this decisive issue for the future.Live from COP21-Bourget
