USPA NEWS - The 51-year-old executive, former EuropaCorp CEO Christophe Lambert, died Tuesday after a battle with lung cancer. He resigned from all his duties in February and was diagnosed in March. Earlier this year, the company´s board named former Universal Pictures chairman Marc Shmuger as his replacement.
The 51-year-old executive, former EuropaCorp CEO Christophe Lambert, died Tuesday after a battle with lung cancer. He resigned from all his duties in February and was diagnosed in March. Earlier this year, the company´s board named former Universal Pictures chairman Marc Shmuger as his replacement. It was on an interim basis. When Christophe Lambert was originally hired, EuropaCorp was a much smaller company.

'We have just learned of the death of Christopher Lambert. The whole EuropaCorp family mourns his departure. The group and all colleagues present offer their condolences to Marie Sara, his children, his family and all his relatives,' the company said in a statement.
EuropaCorp is one of the major feature film producers in France and Europe, headquartered in Saint-Denis near Paris and one of only a few fully integrated independent studios that both produces and distributes feature films. Founded in 1999, EuropaCorp's activities include production, theatrical distribution, home entertainment, VOD, international distribution and sales, French TV Sales, partnerships and licenses, original soundtrack production, publishing and exhibition. EuropaCorp's integrated financial model generates revenues from a wide range of sources, with films from many genres and a strong presence in the international markets.
