USPA News - At least six people were reported dead after a violent shooting in southwestern Russia, local authorities said Monday. The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. local time when a gunman apparently opened fire randomly in the city of Belgorod, located in the oblast which carries the same name. According to RIA Novosti, the gunman began shooting on the street before entering a nearby shop.
He later fled on a BMW vehicle, which was found several minutes later. A second gunman might have been involved, but this has not been confirmed. Meanwhile, some reports said the local hunting store might have been the target of a robbery. Five people were shot dead at the scene, and a 14-yea-old girl was also shot. She later succumbed to her wounds, bringing the death toll to six. Although the gunman was not officially identified, local media said the main suspect was Sergei Pomazun, a 32-year-old local resident who has been convicted on four occasions.
