Audrey AZOULAY, the Minister of Culture and Communication, with Patrick KANNER, Minister of the City, Youth and Sports, signed on July 12, 2016 (Hôtel de Noirmoutier, PARIS) the 13th first Agreements with major French public cultural institutions. In order of Taking action for the social cohesion of cities, those signatures are a symbol to be inserted as a complement of the French urban policy designed to tackle the problems which occur in deprived neighbourhoods. It aims to help at reducing territorial inequalities within urban areas by mobilising national and local stakeholders.
The other attendees for the signature were : Monsieur Jean-François CARENCO (Prefect of the Région Ile-de-France), Madame Hélène GEOFFROY (State Secretary to the Minister of the City, Youth and Sports, in charge of the City). This Event follows the announcement made by the Prime Minister on October 15, 2015, based on the proposition coming from Jean-François CARENCO, those symbolic twinnings illustrate the will of democratizing culture, carried out at first by the GREAT PARIS (le GRAND PARIS). The neighbourhoods concerned are identified based on economic and social indicators in order to improve action efficiency.
